How Rentaroo Works

Welcome to Rentaroo 👋

Rentaroo is a community marketplace where you can safely borrow items from neighbors and earn from things you own but rarely use. Here's how to get the most out of it.

1. Browse & Search

Find items near you by searching or browsing categories. Filter by city, price, and availability to find exactly what you need to rent.

2. Verify Your Identity

Before your first rental, add your phone number and ID to your profile. Verified members build trust and get accepted faster by owners.

3. Request a Rental

Open any listing, pick your dates (or hours), and send a booking request with a short message to the owner. You'll be notified when they accept.

Browse listings →

4. Pay Securely

Once the owner accepts, pay through the platform via PayFast, card, or bank transfer. Deposits protect the owner and are refunded when the item returns undamaged.

5. Meet & Exchange

Arrange a safe meetup in a public place, inspect the item together, and keep all communication inside the app so there's a record if anything goes wrong.

6. Return & Review

Return the item on time and in good condition. Leave an honest review to help other members — and build your own reputation as a trusted renter.

7. List Your Own Items

Got idle items? List them in minutes, set your own prices for daily or hourly rentals, and start earning from things you rarely use.

8. Stay Safe

If an item is stolen, damaged, or not returned, file an incident report. Reported transactions are frozen and reviewed by our team, and serious cases are referred to authorities.

You're responsible for your items

As an owner, you're liable for the items you list. As a renter, you're liable for any damage, loss, or theft during your rental. Always meet safely and keep records.

Rentaroo is owned and operated by HustleZA (Pty) Ltd.
